Kate & Mack's Intimate, Tiny, Rainy Wedding Day in New Orleans

Intimate, tiny weddings and elopements are so much fun to experience. Even though the guest list is small, nothing is lost with a tiny wedding. Actually, it seems that couples get a unique experience that's quite rare. She still puts on a beautiful gown, he still gets nervous, the vows are promised, and champagne is popped. But more than that, you get to really connect with your spouse. You get to have meaningful conversations with your the few guests. You get to remember it all because there's minimal distraction.

Kate & Mack's wedding day was the epitome of memorable. As I arrived at Hotel Monteleone, the rain was steadily drizzling but I held out that it would clear for their outdoor ceremony at Audubon. But, as luck would have it, the rain didn't stop until I was in the car on the way home. But this couple took the weather gracefully and embraced it by saying their vows under umbrellas held by their family.

PS - Their dog is completely unimpressed by me. Haha!

Kate & Randy's Magical Benachi House Wedding

Kate and Randy came to me months ago looking for a more candid, documentary approach to their wedding day. (The best!!) They decided to forgo most of the traditions and ended up with one of the best wedding day's I've witnessed.

Their wedding took place on the beautiful grounds of the Benachi House in January. Guests arrived to glasses of champagne before the couple made their entrance. Instead of walking down the aisle, Kate and Randy came out after the officiant started a slow clap which turned into a full on cheer! After they said I do, everyone did a champagne toast and the reception began.

The weather was absolutely perfect for dancing under string lights, wrapped in a light blanket compliments on the wedding couple! There wasn't cake cutting, formal dancing, or a bouquet toss.  Instead, they had food trucks, yard games, legos, a strolling magician, dance party, late night coffee truck, and cheeseburgers and fries to go! If that wasn't enough, a shuttle bus took guests to Cafe Du Monde to finish the evening with hot beignets.  It. Was. Awesome.

Phoebe & Stu's Algiers Courthouse Wedding

Phoebe and Stu's Algiers Courthouse wedding was in my top three favorite weddings that I have photographed. We all met in the French Quarter and took a limo bus full of their closest family and friends across the river to Algiers Courthouse. The ceremony was perfect with handwritten, heartfelt vows that choked everyone up! Afterwards, we headed to Tableau in the French Quarter for their reception dinner. It was an incredible, simple, classic wedding that the flawlessly executed without all the fluff and stress of a big production. Take a look at this amazing day!

Emily & Shannon's Benachi House Wedding

The Benachi House in New Orleans is such a gorgeous venue for an outdoor wedding! Emily and Shannon chose to get married on the front steps in October of this year. The weather was perfect, they all looked amazing, and everyone had such a good time! Their ceremony was pure perfection and so heartfelt with hand written vows (even stopped people in the street to watch!) Everyone was both laughing and crying! Check out a few highlights of their awesome day!
